Personal Growth
Personal Growth
Troubled teen boys entering Wood Creek Academy are given a clear set of requirements to improve behavior through the use of our Resident Manual.
With the Wood Creek Academy program we get to the “root cause” of the your son’s problems. We understand these behaviors are a symptom of underlying issues that your son may have had for some time.
Recognition of the problem is merely the first step in a process of changing negative behavior patterns. If the process is terminated prematurely, the risk is a failure to achieve the goals of that process.
Our small community and isolated environment offers troubled teen boys the opportunity to confront their issues at a very basic level. This in turn, provides an opportunity for troubled boys to begin constructing their identities based upon their own thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Graduation
Graduation occurs when a resident reaches level 5 of the program and the following goals are met.
- Has met academic expectations.
- Exhibits strong leadership skills by mentoring others in the program.
- Offers to serve and is trusted to work with others.
- Has completed all 12 steps including a strengths and weaknesses review.
- Parents have a homecoming plan and are comfortable with their son’s progress.
“Courage doesn’t always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.”
